FBS Heat inactivated - Heat inactivated serum.

The serum is heated at 56°C with shaking for a defined period of time. This allows better reproducible results in serum-dependent cell culture.

 
Application of the heat-inactivated serum:

    Measurement of lactate dehydrogenase in the supernatant to determine cell damage (lactate dehydrogenase is destroyed by heat).
    Experiments on the complement system
    Vitamin studies
    Studies on growth hormones
