Dialyzed serum is dialyzed against physiological saline using a 10,000 dalton exclusion membrane until the glucose level is below 10 mg/dl.

 
Application of the dialysed serum:

    Radioactive mounting studies
    Hormone-free studies
    Studies without small molecules such as nucleotides, amino acids, sugars or metabolites
