Glasgow's MEM (GMEM) contains twice the concentration of amino acids and vitamins found in the original Eagle's basal medium (BME). GMEM ensures controlled, physiological cell growth and is particularly suitable for primary, embryonic cells (such as BHK-21) where low differentiation growth is desired. The medium does not contain tryptose phosphate.
