Bio&SELL Pfu Polymerase - Extremely accurate, sequence exact

 

The Bio&SELL Pfu polymerase is a thermostable DNA polymerase. The abbreviation Pfu stands for Pyrococcus furiosus, a thermophilic archaebacterium from which this polymerase was isolated.

With its "read ahead function" or "proof-reading activity", Pfu polymerase ensures that fewer faulty PCR products are synthesised. In molecular biology, Pfu polymerase is mainly used in those PCR reactions that have to deliver sequence-exact DNA amplificates.

The accuracy of DNA synthesis is 12-fold higher than that of Taq DNA polymerase, the error rate is 0.2 x 10-5.

The PCR products generated with Bio&SELL Pfu DNA polymerase have smooth ends ("blunt ends") and can be used directly in ligation reactions.

The extension rate of Pfu-DNA polymerase is 0.5 kb/min, therefore 1 - 2 min extension time/kb fragment length is recommended.
