Trypsinization is a long-established and effective method for cell dissociation. Depending on the cell type or cell viability, you will need different trypsin concentrations. This trypsin solution has a concentration of 0.05% w/v and is dissolved in HBSS. It contains phenol red. EDTA is added to trypsin solutions to chelate calcium and magnesium ions, which inhibit trypsin activity. Removing these ions enhances the enzymatic activity of trypsin. This solution has an EDTA concentration of 0.02% w/v.
