RedGel DNA/RNA Stain - The alternative to ethidium bromide
Advantages of RedGel DNA/RNA Stain compared to ethidium bromide:
more convenient
more sensitive
safer
environmentally friendly
RedGel or GreenGel
If you have a blue light table order the GreenGel Stain, if you have a "normal" UV table (UV light of wavelength 312 - 365 nm) order the RedGel Stain.
The non-carcinogenicity of RedGel DNA/RNA Stain has been proven in the Ames test (the competitor materials described in the AMES pdf are of course also available from Bio&SELL).
Information about RedGel DNA/RNA Stain
Bio&SELL RedGel DNA/RNA Stain is suitable for the (simultaneous!) staining of DNA (double and single stranded) as well as RNA and can be used in agarose as well as in polyacrylamide gels. The sensitivity is up to 2 x higher compared to ethidium bromide, so that quantities from approx. 0.3 ng DNA can be detected. The staining solution is added directly to the gel and the running buffer, so there is no need to decolourise after electrophoresis; this saves valuable time. The excitation of the RedGel DNA/RNA Stain is done with UV light of the wavelength 312 - 365 nm, the detection under the same conditions as with ethidium bromide.
