Keratinocyte Basal Medium serum-free

Bio&SELL Keratinocyte Medium is a ready-to-use medium for serum-free cultivation of human keratinocytes.

The basal medium is MCDB medium. After supplementation, ready-to-use medium for human keratinocytes.

 With the keratinocyte medium serum-free, the frequent excessive growth of fibroblasts is suprimed, resulting in selectively better growth of human keratinocytes. This medium must be supplemented before use.
Here's how to easily supplement your medium:

    Thaw supplements at room temperature.
    Add supplements to the basal medium (ensure sterility).
    Trypsinise keratinocytes, wash with PBS and stop remaining trypsin with trypsin inhibitor (10 mg/ml).
    Perform another washing step (PBS) and then determine cell count. In case of subcultivation, adjust cell density to 3000 to 5000 cells/ml.
    (Initial culture 1 - 5 x 106/cells/cm2). Incubate keratinocytes serum-free with supplemented keratinocyte medium in the incubator.
    Alternatively, coat culture dishes with attachment factors (collagen, fibronectin or natural or synthetic fragments of these factors) beforehand.
